Welcome to the opening reception
in the presence of the artists,
Thursday, May 10, 5-7 pm.
HC Berg’s (born 1971) exhibition at Galerie Forsblom is composed of three separate installations. In these new sculptures, Berg has used light as a painting and sculpture material to create a feeling of weightlessness. The sculptures will challenge traditional ways of viewing and seeing through such means as optical illusions.
Berg has an innovative touch. The pieces in the exhibition combine geometric shape with organic form, ornamentation acts as a texture, and light extends the feeling of the space. Transparent surfaces or surfaces illuminated from within insulate and expand the field of view. The surface texture protects the heart of the work like a veil, but its translucency and reflections make it possible to see through the work.
