Ed Paschke: Early Paintings and Drawings     Sep 9 - Oct 29, 2011

Opening Reception: Friday, September 9th, 5:30 - 8 PM

Ed Paschke burst onto the art scene in Chicago in the late 1960s and early 70s and soon become a fixture of gallery and museum exhibitions throughout American and Europe. This exhibition focuses on the development of his early style in both painting and drawing ranging from examples of his first collage-like compositions, drawn from circus posters, comics and cheap ads, to his sometimes bizarrely imagined images of strippers and street hipsters. The exhibition includes a drawing related to his stage sets from the 1972 production of the avant-garde play, Turds in Hell and an unusual "fabric abstraction" from the mid-1970s.

EXHIBITION HOURS:
Tuesday - Wednesday by appointment; Thursday - Saturday, 10:00 - 5:30
