It is our pleasure to welcome you to our booth at the upcoming Art Fair in Basel. Presented for the first time at our booth are works by the Cuban artist collective Los Carpinteros. Conga Ceniza, 2012 (20 x 184 x 135 cm, mixed media). The object, a drum melted into liquid, is a signature piece of the artists that have risen to fame with works that blend art, architecture and every-day objects with precise craftsmanship. We are also showing large-format works on paper by Los Carpinteros, in which one can see the evolution of their ideas painted out in rich watercolors.

We are proud to show a new large-format painting by American painter Hernan Bas. On the scent trail (pink), 2012 (213,5 x 183 x 5,5 cm, acrylic, airbrush, silkscreen and block print on linen) is a strong continuation of Hernan Basʼ recent series, in which the artist paints a dreamlike landscape of decaying architecture and jungle-like nature.

For the first time we will be showing works by German artist Armin Boehm, such as the new painting NN, 2012 (106 x 100 cm, oil, paper, fabric on wood). Boehmʼs painting is characterized by a compelling tension between color and darkness, and a rich haptic surface structure, which he creates by using surprising materials such as asphalt, metal, sand and cloth.

Francis Alÿs is present with signature works on paper and the diptych painting Pie seco / Pie mojado, 2006 (each 30 x 23 cm, oil, pencil and enamel on wood). The diptych is part of Alÿsʼ studies for a bridge between Havana and Key West; an investigation that springs from the core of the artistʼs work and interest in movement and border-crossing.
