Artist Reception Thursday, September 20, 2012, 6:00-9:00 pm
The newest artist in our “whole family of fine art” reverts back to the Old Dutch Masters by painting his distinctive still life paintings on copper, not canvas or board. This technique allows the light to reflect through the paint and bounce back, creating a luminescent effect. Shamback is one of the few artists in the nation who has appropriated this technique and has perfected it in his paintings. If you’ve never seen a work on copper, this show is a must see. Shamback will exhibit nearly 20 works, and his work merits a look by all art aficionados.
