Join us for a provocative roundtable discussion
about the possible futures of art in the Valley of Sun.
The panel (in alphabetic order) includes:
Kristin Bauer and Emmett Potter - independent artists and the dynamic duo that ran the pop-up gallery, Squeeze, from August 2010 until June 2011. (Scottsdale's pop-art movement along Marshall Way was made possible by building landlords agreeing to house artists and galleries at reduced rates.)
Peter Bugg - artist and teacher who graduated from the MFA Program at ASU in May 2010 and has shown widely, including in the Open for Business: ASU Art Museum exhibition.
Kim Larkin - ran the Roosevelt Row gallery, Modified, in Phoenix and has been involved in a number of different projects around the Valley.
Kade Twist - artist and co-founder of the artist collective Post-Commodity whose work was selected for the exhibition here, which was organised by the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and considered how "place" is not simply the geographic locality where an artist lives and works but also the subject matter of lived experience.
