Atrium Gallery announces an upcoming exhibition by internationally known printmaker, Karen Kunc. “An Eden,” a solo show featuring all new work includes mixed media monoprints on artist made paper and woodcuts with polymer relief, mezzotint and mixed media, many with experimental techniques. The semi-abstract subject matter “examines [the] other worlds of edgy natural order and beautiful disasters.” Kunc has pushed the new work into further complexity with overlapping imagery, and density, showing an ever deepening palette with these significant and dynamic new works. She is represented in over one hundred of the finest museums nationally and internationally and continues to be at the forefront of contemporary printmakers.
The exhibition opens Friday, March 18th with a Reception for the Artist, 5 - 8 p.m. and will also feature a Coffee with Artist Talk, Saturday, March 19th at 11:00 a.m. The show is coordinated with the Southern Graphics Conference International hosted by Washington University.
