On the occasion of ART 42 Basel, Galerie Urs Meile Beijing-Lucerne is going to present a selection of recent works by their represented artists. The selection will include new artworks by Ai Weiwei, Anatoly Shuravlev, Andreas Golder, Julia Steiner, Li Dafang, Liu Ding, Xia Xiaowan and Xie Nanxing. Furthermore we would like to inform you that we will present Ai Weiwei's "Fairytale People" at our booth. The portraits (c-prints, each 100 x 100 cm, unicum) are part of "Fairytale", a mulitlayered project, Ai Weiwei developed for documenta 12 (2007).

Under the title “A Tranquil Order“ Galerie Urs Meile, Lucerne, Switzerland presented the first solo show of young Chinese artist Li Gang (*1986) earlier this year. The artist uses a number of media ranging from painting and photography to installation and objects. On the occassion of Art 42 Basel the artist’s work will be introduced to the international audience. Furthermore Galerie Urs Meile will present for the first time at Art Basel new works by the young German artist Christian Schoeler who is the current artist-in-residence at the gallery’s residency in Beijing. Schoeler is known for his watercolors and oil paintings in which he reflects contemporary ideas of fragility, beauty and vulnerability.
