Function – means consciousness function in psychology, emphasizing the awareness, which plays a role between the needs of human organism and the environment. The functional aspect of works is built by the two factors “localizing” and “language”.

“Localizing” is the attitude while relationship happens between the creator and all interactions in the field of artistic practice, and by maintaining an independent observation and reflection, the artist reflects and dialogues effectively within the “social context”, in order to build association between artist and society. After the practice, artist research in-depth of the feelings “media” brings and its characteristics. Thinking though vision, questioning “preconceptions” type of “sculpturing” reality, so that to maximize the reasonable and effective judgment and consideration of the awareness of problem.

“Function Measurement” is relying on “localizing” and “language” to fix the accuracy and discussion associated with artistic creation and reality. Participators of the Thirdspace build their various independent visual manners and imagination based on their different life experiences. Then they search for an “identity” of clear self-identification in the present society and trying to detect the meaning and value of social, collective or individual existence.
