EVRU 'From Zush to Evru: The Second Incarnation'
October 29, 2004 through January 15, 2005
Haim Chanin Fine Arts presents EVRU, on view from October 29 through January 15, 2005. The opening reception is on Friday, October 29, from 6 to 8 PM. From Zush to Evru: The Second Incarnation features over forty new works, from miniature to large-format wax and ink drawings, bronze bells and an interactive digital installation, Tecura.
In the new millennium, Zush died and reincarnated into Evru. The large selection of wax and ink drawings in the exhibition documents this transition. Evru’s portraits and sculptures capture a world of dream narratives, irrational minds and sexual psychological depths. Artist, scientist and philosopher Evru seeks to spread the EVRUGO MENTAL STATE. He creates his aura with sounds, lights, special effect and objects and he has developed a personal alphabet, Asura. In the digital installation Tecura, the audience manipulates a computer program to produce and print out their own works.
Many prestigious museums and institutions have held exhibitions of Evru’s works, among them the Museu d’Art Contemporani, Barcelona, (retrospective exhibition), the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid, (retrospective), Biblioteca Nacional, Madrid, Ica-Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, Galerie de France, Paris and Marlborough Gallery, Rome.
Haim Chanin Fine Arts is located at 210 Eleventh Avenue, 2nd floor, between 24th and 25th Streets. Dominique Haim Chanin, founder and director of Haim Chanin Fine Arts, introduces an ambitious international contemporary program to the New York art world by premiering established artists from Europe and Latin America in her gallery space. Haim Chanin Fine Arts’ 2005 exhibition schedule will include French artist Hervé di Rosa (February - March) and abstract master Pierre Soulages (May – June).
