Samson Projects announces an exhibition of paintings by Katherine Bradford.

The work handles the classic unknown cosmic. That perpetual moment when thoughts get louder and mostly clearer.

“I paint invented scenes that have a dreamy, visionary quality. I want to capture the spirit of a quest, of community and, conversely, of quiet isolation.”

Perhaps more influenced by other paintings than by life itself? Colorful traveling and narrative wont/want with a penchant for contrast. Historically disjunct and slightly unexpected is fine. Groupings rescuing hopeful imagery and heightened moments of emotion.

The open air, land, ocean and corner as an optimistic space; A womb mode.

Katherine Bradford was born in New York, NY in 1942. She received a BA from Bryn Mawr College (Bryn Mawr, PA) and an MFA State University of New York (Purchase, NY). Bradford maintains studios in Brooklyn, NY and Brunswick, ME.
