A new exhibition of works by Edwin Schlossberg entitled CONSCIOUS ALPHABET will open March 17, 2007 at the Ronald Feldman Gallery in Manhattan. The exhibition presents 26 paintings created during the past year.
This series of works explores the “story” of the letters in the alphabet — the idea of letters as the building blocks of words, thoughts, feelings, and interactions between people.
CONSCIOUS ALPHABET is Schlossberg’s ninth one-person show at Feldman Gallery since 1978. Recent group exhibitions include The Voting Booth Project at Parsons School of Design in New York and Splendid Pages at the Toledo Museum of Art in Ohio. In addition to his work in visual art, poetry and writing, the artist is president and principal designer of ESI Design, a New York-based design firm. The firm’s recent work includes the Time Warner Home to the Future installation and Ellis Island’s American Family Immigration History Center.
There will be a reception on Saturday, March 17 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 – 6:00. Monday by appointment.
