Alfred Hrdlicka - dass Alfred Hrdlicka Mozart im Mozartjahr praesentiert ist mehr Zufall als Absicht, beschaeftigt sich der Bildhauer, Zeichner und Maler doch schon seit Jahrzehnten mit Persoenlichkeiten aus der Theater- und Musikwelt. Immer zielt er mit Pinsel oder Stift weit ueber die gestaltete Flaeche hinaus ins Menschliche, Sinnliche, Dramatische. Alfred Hrdlicka erforscht Menschen nicht da, wo sie sich offiziell zurechtgemacht von ihrer besten Seite zeigen. Er wartet dort auf sie, wo sie ihre Masken fallen lassen und ihr wahres Gesicht zeigen. Dann schlaegt er zu! 140 mal Mozart: leidenschaftlich, erotisch, verzweifelt, realistisch, polemisch, analytisch und immer sehr musikalisch.
Alfred Hrdlicka - The fact that Alfred Hrdlicka is presenting Mozart in the Mozart year is more chance than intention; after all, the sculptor, graphic artist and painter has been working with personalities from the theatre and music world for decades. It is always his aim to transcend the compositional area with brush or pencil towards the human, the hedonistic, the dramatic. Alfred Hrdlicka doesn't explore human beings where they are smartened up and ready to put their offical side on show. He waits for them where they drop their masks and show their true faces.
