------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I "draw" with a variety of mediums--light, string, tape, film, installation, paper shreds, ceramics, iron, as well as paint and other traditional mediums. In my films I have drawn with the linear paths of a character's actions. Actions can construct a Kandinsky-like geometry within the film frame over time. Having started as a painter, issues from painting and drawing pervade all my work.

The subject matter of my work is perception - both spatial and personal - and its relationship to states of mind and feeling. By undermining expectations, our attention focuses on the experience of perceiving. The work celebrates the visual world and gives evidence to the unique nature of our experiences.
--Anita Thacher, 2011
