Internationally acclaimed Contemporary Chinese painter Zhou Chunya (B. 1955 Chongqing, China) is critically acclaimed for his iconic 'Green Dog' series of oil paintings, prints and sculptures. "Green Dog" (2007) is a well-known color silkscreen print by Zhou, is edition 7 of 50, measures 29.92 x 22.05 inches (76 x 56 cm), and is in excellent condition. This work playfully encapsulates the loose, painterly feel of Zhou's paintings of both flora and fauna as well as his lush color palette based on greens and pinks.

Zhou Chunya is considered one of the country's most talented painters of nature and rural scenes as well. His works all share an expressionistic feel- the artist uses varied brush strokes, form loose and gestural to direct and jagged brush strokes, creating colorful, blurred sweeping landscapes. His works are often filled with creatures, as seen here, that are isolated in the world without context, or lush nature scenes that are filled with lush foliage and flowers.

The artist was born in Chongqing, Sichuan Province and graduated from Sichuan Academy of Fine Art, China in 1982 as well as Kassel Academy of Fine Arts in Kassel, Germany. Zhou has had solo and group exhibitions in major galleries and museums internationally throughout Europe, the US, and Asia, including the Houston Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, US; the Museum of Art Modern Contemporary Trento, Italy; the National Art Museum, in Beijing, and many more . In 2011, his new world record at auction was set for the Artist.
