Lot description
This is a sought-after silkscreen print on 300g Somerset velvet paper, edition 84/88. Dimensions: 31.30 x 23.30 in (79.50 cm x 23.30 cm). In excellent condition, easily ships world-wide. This portrait of a pink baby tucked into bed alone in an empty room, is a sought--after image by famed Chinese Contemporary artist Zhang Xiaogang, from his "Amnesia and Memory" Series. This can be considered a self-portrait, as Zhang often references the many months he spent in an hospital in his oeuvre. The artist is best known for sombre, dreamy and poignant images of families, children, household objects whose source imagery are the conservative black and white vintage "studio portraits" of families popular in China before the days of the Cultural Revolution, when he was a child.
