VERY RARE VITO ACCONCI PORTFOLIO, EDITION OF ONLY 10. This seminal work was created to resemble an actual wall, with graffiti on the wall. Acconci has written his poetic lines as titles for the works, which are potent and political. Like many of Acconci's prints, this work in situ, becomes a sculptural installation. Acconci plays with the idea of writing on stone, referencing, among other things, cave writing, by creating lithographs that are indeed printed using stone.

Vito Acconci (b. 1940) is one of the foremost pioneers of performance, video, installation, and the exploration of architectural space in printmaking. By the 1980s, Acconci's interests shifted from investigating his own body in spatial contexts to more proto-architectural constructions, moving out of the traditional gallery space to integrate both private and public spaces and push the structural boundaries of his work. His interest in the relationship of visceral space in printmaking has created a complex dialogue between the artwork and the empirical world at large. Acconci has received numerous awards over the course of his career including multiple National Endowment for the Arts Awards, a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Award, and an American Academy in Rome Award, among others. He has exhibited at numerous venues with retrospectives at the Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam, NL) and Museum of Contemporary Art (Chicago, IL).
