Lot description
Frame: 37.5 x 27.75 inches

As part of his 'Miss Ko2 Project' this c-print by notorious Japanese Pop artist Takashi Murakami titled 'Miss Ko2-Fluffy' warps living beings into his anime based art. Saturated with the sex appeal so often found in Japanese animes, this scantily clad woman rendered with animated characteristics perfectly captures Murakami's contemporary approach to Pop Art style of work.

Considered the Warhol of Japan, Takashi Murakami (b. 1963) is a prolific contemporary Japanese artist who works in both fine arts media, such as painting, as well as digital and commercial media. Having been classically trained in the historic ‘Nihon-ga’ style, Murakami's talent lies in his ability to blend traditional Japanese painting with that of contemporary pop culture. Often pushing the boundaries between what is considered high and low art, Takashi Murakami incorporates popular themes from pop culture, media, and cartoon animation into anything from his "Superflat" paintings to his enormous sculptures. He also brands his own art to create marketable commercial goods including figurines, apparel, and even key chains.
