Lot description
DALI'S MOST FAMOUS AND ICONIC MASTERPIECE. RARE EXAMPLE WITH REMARQUE, ONLY SECOND TIME AT AUCTION SINCE 2001. Dali's Persistence de la memoire shows Dali's melting clocks in a desolate landscape. This rare example has a special etched remarque of ants along the bottom margin. This piece is hand signed and authenticated by the Salvador Dali Archives.

Salvador Dali is undoubtedly one of the most influential and prolific artists of the twentieth century. Though best known for his paintings, Dali created at least 1,700 prints over the course of his career. Two of Dali's favorite printmaking techniques were lithography and engraving but he also made prints by blasting them with electric charges or bombarding them with eggs filled with ink.
