ARTNET IS WAIVING THE STANDARD 15% BUYERS PREMIUM ON ALL CREATIVE TIME SPRING GALA BENEFIT AUCTION LOTS

“Some artists achieve artistic ingenuity by doggedly pursuing traditional approaches to painting and sculpture, until only after years of diligence, they are able to deconstruct and reinvent artistic conventions. Other artists arrive at innovation by applying the approaches of related disciplines to fine art practice, arriving at hybrid forms that yield imaginary different from anything that has been seen before. Ryan McGinness has created a new, seamless, artistic hybrid that is simultaneously painting, design, and mass communication. He is one of the rare artists who is pushing the boundaries of the definition of art and the artist.”
—Installation view, “Ryan’s Forest of Signs”, by Jeffrey Deitch, Published by Rizzoli, 2005, pp.13-15

Since 1974, Creative Time has presented the most innovative art in the public realm.
The New York-based nonprofit has worked with over 2,000 artists to produce more than
335 groundbreaking public art projects that have ignited the public's imagination, explored ideas that shape society, and engaged millions of people around the globe.

This year’s Spring Gala Benefit on May 5 will honor Creative Time board member and philanthropist Liz Swig. In conjunction with the gala, Creative Time will hold a silent auction in addition to its signature live auction. Artnet Auctions will feature highlights from the silent auction through May 3, available for the general public to bid on or purchase directly. Artnet has generously waived its usual online fees for Creative Time auction bidders, making it even easier to place bids for your favorite works.
