This is a very rare and difficult print to find. It is in excellent condition, with deep, rich colors, and a perfect strike. This is a very compelling image, and features a great deal of the Constructivist elements found in Tamayo's better prints. Unframed.

A pure Zapotec Indian, Tamayo (1899 - 1991) studied at the Academy of San Carlos from 1917 to 1922. He moved ot New York in1937 and was embraced by the art community, showing at both Knoedler and Marlborough. Tamayo received international recognition when he exhibited his paintings at the Venice Biennale in 1950. He went on to live in Paris for the 10 years before returning to Mexico where he built a museum in his home town of Oaxaco. Painter, muralist and print-maker. he won great fame as one of Mexico’s finest artists.

Tamayo's work has been displayed in museums throughout the world, including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City, The Phillips Collection in Washington, and The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid, Spain.
