Three dimensional brass relief, 1970, with incised signature and date on a copper plate affixed to the verso, numbered 50/100, with the Gemini G.E.L. blindstamp

"The Modern Head series moved rather far from its source in Jawlensky, as Lichtenstein explored an even more complex mix of materials and processes. (...) The three-dimensional pieces are in English walnut and in brass, and Lichtenstein completed an exquisite brass relief composed of hundreds of tiny hand-tooled brass dots that functions as a segue between the sculpture in the round and the five prints."
