Image reads white on off-white paper with hand drawn maps, location names and directional notations. Pin holes in corners. Paper rippling caused by primer. Hinged to backing board.

Roxy Paine is an American artist. He was educated at the College of Santa Fe and the Pratt Institute. Paine's work deals with both man-made and natural environments. He is extremely interested in man's need to control nature. Since 1990, Paine's work has been exhibited internationally at major museums such as the Hirshhorn Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Israel Museum. Paine received the 2006 John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship.
