Lot description
Original offset lithograph, created by Rauschenberg in 1994, for the late Senator Kennedy's campaign for senate. The photocollage work contains references to patriotism as well as the political process. This example is from the personal collection of Mrs. Edward Kennedy.

Robert Rauschenberg is undoubtedly one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century. The artist was a prolific printmaker who pushed boundaries by experimenting with different printmaking media. Rauschenberg often referenced politics and current events in his art by borrowing images from newspapers. The National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. exhibited "LET THE WORLD IN" 2008, a show devoted entirely to the artist's prints.
