In a whirlwind of somber colors and earthen tones, Rita Ackermann presents a chaotic swirl of forms on paper through this mixed media work. Haunting in its overall presentation, a woman's face and hand are hooded in the torrent of color throughout the composition, adding a mysterious quality to the work.

Hungarian-American painter, collagist, musician and curator, Rita Ackermann (b.1968) explores fantasies of gender while seducing the viewer with ageless, anthropomorphic female characters. At the same time, Ackermann pushes and challenges known definitions of media disciplines, supports and scale.

(NOTE this lot is sold subject to a resale agreement with Andrea Rosen Gallery). Work is framed.
