Lot description
This lithograph is from the portfolio "Les Enfants Trouves." The works in the portfolio are based on Magritte's largest mural installation at the Casino Communal de Knokke, which he completed in June of 1953. The print portfolio was published in 1968.

The works of the great Surrealist painter René Magritte continues to delight and intrigue collectors today with their juxtaposition of the mysterious and the mundane. Always interested in and inspired by dreams, Magritte once said, "Everything we see hides another thing, we always want to see what is hidden by what we see, but it is impossible. Humans hide their secrets too well...."
