This suite of 3 'Untitled' works by Peter Schuyff was executed in 1986 and characterizes his approach to integrating rhythm with complex forms. Each watercolor on paper presents strong color contrasts, grid-like patterns, and interweaving forms to create tromp l'oeil effects and visually engaging pieces often seen in Schuyff's work.

Born in Baarn, Holland, Neo-Geo artist Peter Schuyff (b. 1958) is known for his compelling self portraits, paintings executed on found paintings, and intricately carved baseball bats and pencils. For Schuyff, music has a resonating influence on much of his work, integrating rhythm and harmonious structures into complex compositions of interweaving forms. He often employs a vividly bright palette within his work, creating an elusive tromp l’oeil effect throughout the surfaces. Schuyff currently lives and works in Amsterdam. He has exhibited extensively throughout the world with shows at the Museum of Contemporary Art (New York, NY), Fodor Museum (Amsterdam, NL), Centre National d'Art Contemporian (Nice, IT), and Larry Gagosian Gallery (Los Angeles, CA), among others.
