This distinctive work is held within the title page, actually spanning two pages from the title to the red rag first front end page, of the FIRST EDITION hardback book PETER BEARD: FIFTY YEARS OF PORTRAITS, published in 1999, Verona, Italy.

This hardback book with textured boards and no dust jacket as issued, features a tipped-in cover image. It contains 205 pages featuring black-and-white and color illustration throughout. The book measures 10.25 x 8.25 inches. This rare Peter Beard collection features photography of family members and fellow artists along with many celebrities and fashion models. The images are interpreted through Beard's distinctive eye, featuring stories, images, and other touches accompanying and overlaying his portraits. Beard's artistic photographic portraits are also accompanied by an essay from Peter Tunney, Curator of the Fahey Klein Gallery.

Of all his many achievements, including his critically acclaimed wildlife photography, Peter Beard is perhaps best known to the general public as the photographer who discovered the model Iman in Somalia, and whose images helped catapult her to international superstardom.
