Lot description
An early portrait of Jacqueline Roque, the young woman Picasso met in 1953 at Madoura Pottery. In this beautiful line drawing done on a ceramic plaque, Jacqueline's demeanor is as a classical Greek muse, in profile, showing her famous nose that Picasso would reproduce many times during the subsequent 20 years that they were together, until the artist's death in 1973
