Lot description
Mel Ramos (b.1935) is considered to be a leading artist to represent the Pop movement on the West Coast. His work simultaneously celebrates and satirizes popular culture, exploring the role of advertising through fine art, and the use of scantily clad women to sell products. Ramos reframes the traditional female nude in a contemporary consumer context, poking fun at the blatant exploitation of women to sell products.
