Lot description
As demonstrated in 'Procrastination is Never Innocent', Matthew Brannon explores the relationship between text, design, and material, and the messages that can be relayed via their discrepancies. Treating canvas as tapestry, Brannon embroiders the silhouettes of various sea life, making them connected through the lines of thread. On the opposing linen sheet, Brannon sews white lines to form a graphic pattern. While the strict geometry of the linen and the organic shapes of the animals seen different, through Brannon's vision they appear in harmony.
