Lot description
"Undisclosed Desires" is an important large-scale painting by Chinese Contemporary artist LV Yanjun, is unframed and is in excellent condition.

"Undisclosed Desires" stunningly illustrates the manner in which Chinese Contemporary artist Lv Yanjun deals with issues regarding China's Cultural Revolution and the era of Tian'anmen Square uprisings. However, Lv Yanjun's works address this era in the history of China be featuring impossibly beautiful young Chinese women, usually wearing PRC Chinese uniforms, a seen here. The women possess a feeling of fantasy, arranged in a surreal composition, perpendicular to one another, giving the work a sense of weightlessness and makes one question the proper orientation and perspective of the piece,. He paints the skin of these women such a pale color of porcelain with intent, as a reference to their purity but also to the pallor and confinement of many during the Cultural Revolution. It is as if they are ghosts or metaphors for the education, beauty and youthfulness that were so explicitly suppressed during this period in Chinese history.

The artist is self-taught, and has already been the subject of select gallery and museum exhibitions, most recently in 2009, "Scene Exhibition in A", Area Art Museum in Beijing , China. The artist is represented by top galleries in Beijing and Singapore as well as in Europe. His paintings are by private collectors world-wide, setting impressive records well above estimate consistently at auctions in 2011 and 2012.
