Vintage print; condition is excellent.

Lewis Wickes Hine (1874-1940)
Hine considered himself less an artist than a documentarian of both the social ills and industrial achievements in the United States. Lewis Hine was a pioneer of social documentary photography, and his three primary bodies of work included Ellis Island, working and labor conditions of children, and the building of the Empire State Building in NY. His photographs of children laboring in factories at the turn of the century helped sway public opinion in favor of new federal laws restricting the employment of minors.
