Lot description
American artist Keith Haring's iconic use of bold lines, vivid colors and figures to create a visual language that expresses strong messages is depicted in this exquisite print 'Apocalypse, pl. VI.' Haring created this Apocalypse portfolio in collaboration with writer William Burroughs. The series offers the viewer an inside look into Haring's personal struggle with AIDS.

Keith Haring (1958-1990) a key player in the Pop Art Movement, gained international recognition between 1980 and 1989. Using simple and rhythmic lines, Haring created work that contained strong social messages of life, unity, love, sex and war. At age 19 Haring moved to New York to study at the School of Visual Arts. He first achieved public attention with his chalk drawings in the subways of New York City. In 1989, just before his death, the artist established the Keith Haring Foundation which provides funding to AIDS organizations and children’s programs.
