Lot description
MONOTYPE (unique)printed in lithographic inks from an aluminum plate on 300gsm BFK Rives white paper.

Three of these prints were acquired by the Whitney Museum, New York.

This image is very typical of Josh Smith's work. Some handling marks on boarders of the paper, due to process and artist handling the work while creating this print. Image is pristine. Each print in this group of lithographs are unique. The signifying components of his methodology consist of systematic processes and serial repetition, all the while confronting the notion of compositions created entirely by chance.
