Lot description
Image size: 34.9 x 29.1 in (88.5 x 74 cm)
Sheet size: 41.4 x 35.4 in (105 x 90 cm)

This large etching and aquatint comes from Miro's 1976 suite of 5 etchings entitled "El Pi de Formentor." The title of the portfolio translates to "The Pine of Formentor" and refers to Cap de Formentor, the northernmost point on the Spanish island of Majorca. The spare composition is reminiscent of the windy, rough beauty of Cap de Formentor. The portfolio was accompanied by a text by Spanish poet Miquel Costa i Llobera, a native Majorcan who frequently wrote poems about the island's landscape.

This print is framed in a museum quality frame (see photos).
