Lot description
Original marker drawings by Contemporary Pop Master Jeff Koons. Features a double flower drawing in a book released by Taschen and is an in-depth study of Koons' entire oeuvre to date.

Jeff Koons is among the most controversial artists to have emerged in the past 20 years, spawning a new generation of Neo-Dada artists, such as Damien Hirst. Like Marcel Duchamp and Andy Warhol, Koons is concerned with the transformation of everyday objects into art. His work merges high culture and kitsch into banal works of balloon animals, topiary terriers, and pop icons. Koons insists that there are no hidden meanings in his art, feeling it causes too much critical contemplation. Instead, he wishes his work to be perceived for its initial reaction instilled within the viewer. Over the course of his career, Koons has received numerous awards including the John Singleton Copley Award (2010), the Wollaston Award from the Royal Academy of London (2008), and the Artistic Achievement Award from Americans for the Arts (2006), among others.
