Lot description
Paper: 19.69 x 14.57 in.
Former member of Magnum photography agency Jeanloup Sieff (1933-2000) began working at Elle magazine in Paris before relocating to New York in 1961 to further his commercial experience at fashion magazines. His work was published in Vogue, Glamour, Esquire and Harper’s Bazaar. Sieff’s most famous photographs are his images of nudes and dancers, although he did deviate from these subjects, for instance in his 1977 series landscapes in Death Valley. Sieff’s aesthetic added an edge to classical standards of beauty.
