Lot description
A striking color lithograph by Rosenquist published in Florida by Graphicstudio, USF. This print - one in a series based on the news of the period - juxtaposes the moon and its beam which casts a reflection of the front cover of the local Tampa Tribune newspaper. The text printed in silver ink, highlights the coverage of a widening war in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Korea. A reprint also appears on the local news coverage of Governor Askew of Florida and his quick action request to Congress to protect Florida's watershed.

A Rosenquist drawing, preparatory for this print, made in 1970, sold for $47500, at auction - Sotheby's, November 2011.
