Lot description
Image size: 8.6 x 7 inches (22 x 17.7 cm)
Paper size: 15.75 x 10.75 inches (38.1 x 25.4 cm)

This extremely rare lithograph is from an edition of only 20, ten of which are in public collections. In July 1899, Lautrec spent a holiday at Le Crotoy and Le Havre, where he drew inspiration from the denizens of the waterfront bars along the coast. Many of the patrons were English sailors, as were the barmaids, in these establishments. One of the most popular barmaids at the Star was Miss Dolly, a blonde Englishwoman. Lautrec used her as a subject for a series of works from this time period.
