Lot description
This very rare lithograph is plate 11 from the "Melodies de Desire Dihau" series of 14 prints. Each image illustrated a ballad by popular bassoonist Desire Dihau. This one is titled "Springtime." In this image, a man and a woman stroll together, with the man clutching the woman by the waste. A bicycle is cast beside a tree. Lautrec also created several portraits of Dihau himself, as did Degas.

This impression is from the first state (of 2), without lettering. The image was later issued with text in the second state. It was published in an edition of only 20. It is stamped with Lautrec's monogram in orange-red and monogrammed on the stone, both in the lower left corner. It comes beautifully framed as shown.
