Lot description
A dog, just barely curled up upon an upholstered chair, lazes in the sunlight, eyes shut tight against the glare. A superbly atmospheric animal image. Austrian/European location adds the romance.
Kuhn (1866–1944) was a master of Pictorialism and the gum bichromate process, and later championed a straightforward, unmanipulated approach to photography. He contributed to Camera Work photographed Alfred Steiglitz.
