Lot description
Harold Eugene Edgerton is known for pioneering the field of flash photography. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Nebraska in 1925, he went on to study under Gjon Mili. With strobe photography technology, Harold was able to capture split second events, such as the bursting of a balloon or the firing of a gun. In 1934, he was awarded a bronze medal by the Royal Photographic Society and in 1973 he won the National Medal of Science. (wikipedia)
