"Chinese Portrait No. 4" is one of the most stunning and rare color silk screen prints by famous Chinese Contemporary artist Feng Zhengjie, and belongs to his iconic series of large-scale paintings and color silk-screen prints known as the "Chinese Portrait Series" . This is one of the largest and most ornate of Feng's "Chinese Portrait" prints and depicts a beautiful young woman from a dynamic bird's eye view, her movie-star smile and stunning good looks are depicted in his signature neon pink and green palette, her lips a glossy, brilliant red. Her face beams upwards at the viewer, framed by denizens of pink roses and green leaves in full bloom.

Reminiscent of Warhol’s screen-printed female celebrities, namely Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, as well as the plethora of New York socialites who commissioned Warhol to depict them, Feng’s paintings and prints are called "Neo-Pop" as he uses pop art in a futuristic manner. Feng's uber-glamorous women are inspired by the images of western models and celebrity portraits found in gossip and fashion magazines advertisements, on billboards, commercials and now "reality" television shows. Feng makes his women unattainable and into foreign creatures by his use lack of specific narrative, his neon palette and electrified auras, and high-fashion poses. Feng's models, who are neither western nor Chinese in appearance, are wandering-eyed hybrids of universal, commercial beauty. His paintings and prints from these series belong to the top Private and Museum collections world-wide and are highly sought after on the primary and secondary markets world-wide. The artist lives and works in China.
