American painter Fanny Holtzmann (b.1902-1980) was also one of Hollywood's leading entertainment lawyers during the mid-twentieth century, rare for a woman of her time. Her clients and friends were celebrities including Gertrude Lawrence, Noel Coward, George Bernard Shaw, Sir Lawrence Oliver, Vivian Leigh, Daphne du Maurier, Fred Astaire, Syrie and William Somerset Maugham. Many of them purchased Holtzmann's works and encouraged her to pursue art.

Fanny began painting during the 1940s, and is known for her Manhattan life scenes and colorful, floral still lifes.
