American Pop artist Edward Ruscha (B.1937, Omaha, Nebraska) is known for his paintings, prints, drawings, photography and film. In 1962 Ruscha’s work was included in the groundbreaking and historically important exhibition entitled “New Painting of Common Objects” at the Pasadena Art Museum along with other legendary Pop artists, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Robert Dowd, Phillip Hefferton, Joe Goode, Jim Dine, and Wayne Thiebaud. The 1970s were a very fertile period for the California artist Ed Ruscha. Since his first major works on paper exhibition at the Minneapolis Institute of Art in 1972, Rushca has since gone on to exhibit at numerous museums and galleries including the Kunsthaus Zürich, Switzerland (2009), the Moderna Museet, Stolkholm, Sweden (2010) and the Gagosian Gallery, New York, NY (2011) among others.
