Lot description
This work, "Bomb Suit," is a striking example of Dolk's stencil technique. The crisp black outlines contrast the softer green of the coat, the silkscreen emulating the effect of aerosol spray paint on the wall.

Norway's most famous graffiti artist, Dolk Lundgren, known as Dolk ("dagger" in Norwegian), is best known for his stencil art which is inspired by (and has often been mistaken for) Banksy's work. Though was once speculated that Dolk was simply a pseudonym used by Banksy, it now widely known that it is not. Dolk satirizes pop culture with tongue-in-cheek humor. He has been praised by Pictures on Walls (POW) as "the premier stencil artist in Norway wise beyond his years." The London printmaking studio POW and the celebrated street art site Wooster Collective helped Dolk's work become widely known to an international audience. Dolk's works can be seen on walls in cities including Bergen, Berlin, Copenhagen, Barcelona, Oslo, Lisbon, Stockholm, London, Prague, Melbourne and Tokyo.
