16.5 х 24 in. (41.91 x 60.96 cm.)
Lot description
This striking mixed media work dominated by eye-popping yellow and blue exemplifies the visually arresting Pop iconography crafted by the acclaimed contemporary art duo Date Farmers, who are known for incorporating found objects and pencil text into vibrant compositions.

Date Farmers is the creative partnership between artists Carlos Ramirez (b. 1967) and Armando Lerma (b. 1975), who have worked together since 1998. The name "Date Farmers" derives from Lerma's family's date farm, at which Ramirez once worked. Influenced by street art, propaganda, Catholic iconography, comics, and Hollywood, Date Farmers works in a wide variety of media, frequently using found objects and materials in their paintings. Date Farmers has exhibited at Jonathan LeVine Gallery, New York, NY; New Image Art Gallery, West Hollywood, CA; Leonard Street Gallery, London, England; and the Oakland Museum of California, among other venues.
