Lot description
"Nude in Clouds" (1997) is a stunning black and white photograph by American photographer Danny Conant, and belongs to her iconic "Nudes" series. The photograph is edition 1 of 10, measures 14 x 14 inches, is laid on white, acid free, pH balanced, acid free mat board to 24 x 24 inches and is in excellent condition. Conant’s series of nude photographs of the male and female figure are deliberately provocative and seductive images that are simultaneously earthly yet ethereal. Conant's work is admittedly grounded in her desire to create a photograph that is inherently sensual, so much so that there is an inherent tactile desire upon viewing each image. Conant's body of work is focused on the nude figure, and she tends to print her stunning black and white photographs as silver gelatin prints, as seen here.

Danny Conant currently lives and works in Washington D.C. Her photography has appeared in many National and International publications and select photographs have been published in "Vanishing Tibet" by Danny Conant and Catherine Steinmann with Foreword by Robert A.F.Thurman, published by Tibet House with Overlook Duckworth.
