This serigraph based after the iconic photo taken in 1962 'Marilyn Monroe with Roses (Blue)' is by Bert Stern from "The Last Sitting". The photo shoot which was held at the Bel Air Hotel was commissioned by VOGUE Magazine shortly before Monroe's untimely death at the age of only 36. In this iconic print Stern captures the essence of Marilyn Monroe and allows the viewer to see why America fell head over heels for this blonde bombshell.

American artist Bert Stern (b. 1929) is a fashion and celebrity portrait photographer who is best known for The Last Sitting, a collection of 2,500 photographs taken of Marilyn Monroe over a three day period, six weeks before her death, shot for Vogue magazine. After opening his first studio in New York in 1954, Stern went on to directed Jazz on a Summer's Day, a 1959 documentary film set at the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival as well as work as a photographer on the film Lolita, directed by Stanley Kubrick with a screenplay by Vladimir Nabokov. Stern is however most famous for his photographs of famous celebrities including Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Drew Barrymore and Lindsay Lohan (recreating The Last Sitting). His work has earned him the right to exhibit at numerous institutions worldwide including the Brooklyn Museum of Art, Brooklyn, NY (2005), the Berlinische Galerie, Berlin, Germany (2006), and the Chady Art Gallery, Miami, FL (2010) among others.
