Lot description

Extremely rare 22 x 22 inch flower painting on canvas with four blue flowers on a green background, in a private collection since 1995. A painting with four blue flowers in this size-range has not appeared at auction since 2007, when a 1964, 24 x 24 inch painting came up at Sotheby's on November 14, and fetched $2,057,000. This work is one of only 4 dated 1978 Flowers paintings know to the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.

With brilliant color and in very good condition not seen in the market for many years.

Hand signed by Warhol and authenticated by the Andy Warhol Art Authentication Board., Inc. and numbered A106.0711 on the overlap.

Piece has been recently examined by a conservator and a full condition report is available upon request, as well as high resolution photos.
